In this post, in light of the hadith, you have been told whether it is permissible to wear a Amulet or not?
There are differences among the eminent scholars regarding whether talismans are permissible in Islam or not. But if the blessed hadith is carefully examined, it comes to light that if the Amulet contains verses from the Quran, then it is permissible to keep it in the house.
But if the names of angels, jinn, or devils are present in the Amulet and help is sought from them, then it is not permissible in Islam, but it is forbidden.
Apart from this, the hadith also prohibits hanging the Amulet around the neck, but if the Amulet of verses from the Quran is kept in the house, then there is no harm in it.
We have explained the meaning of the blessed hadith about talismans in a few lines; now we will tell you some such hadiths about talismans, after reading which your confusion will be reduced.
In Sahih Muslim Kitab al-Salam Hadith No. 2200, the Prophet of Islam said:
Translation: “Tell your ‘Healing Therapy’ to me, there is no harm in ‘Healing Therapy’ as long as there is no polytheism in them.”
Before Islam and in the early days of Islam, talismans and un-Islamic Healing Therapy were used to treat diseases, so the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that such talismans and un-Islamic Healing Therapy should not be used that contain polytheism. This Healing Therapy was later given the name of “Ruqyah”. But with time, plague, smallpox, and unknown diseases began to appear among the people, due to which the elders felt that the disease could enter another Muslim due to “Ruqyah“. Therefore, keeping this concern in mind, some elders used talismans of the verses of the Quran for spiritual treatment, which is still prevalent today.
Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal (may Allah have mercy on him) considered it permissible to use the verses of the Quran or the names of Allah as amulets.
The divine amulet is written according to the hadith and contains only verses from the Quran. In addition, the divine amulet is not hung around the neck but is kept in the house because, according to the hadith, it is not correct to wear the amulet around the neck.
It should be remembered that if it is wrong to write the verses of the Quran on paper and keep them in the house, then the verses of the Quran are written on the walls of every mosque in the world, and frames of the verses of the Ayatul Kursi and the verses of the Quran are kept in every house. In addition, the verses of the Quran are also written on the cover of the Kaaba.
In addition, when the verses of the Quran were collected during the time of Hazrat Umar Farooq, these verses were written on stones and pieces of leather, and today the Quran is also written on paper in the house of every Muslim.
The purpose of talking is that if the verses of the Quran are written on paper and kept in the house, there is no harm in it, but with its blessings, Allah creates ease for the Muslim.
Is it Halal to Wear an Amulet (Hadith) ?
